The FOCS raises money to fund items that would perhaps otherwise not be available to the school children of Chadlington. We try to provide the little extras which make our school a great place to learn.

We will shortly introduce a new section of this site where we will showcase items that the FOCS have provided, but to give you an idea of what we have contributed recently read on!

  • We’ve provided the funding for some up-to-date teaching aids including equipping classrooms with new smartboards and providing movie cameras for the children to use and make their own films.
  • We subsidise some school trips, making them more affordable for everyone. Recent trips have included going to Dickens World, the Black Country Museum, the pantomime in Oxford, Compton Verney for a textile workshop and Legoland.
  • We’ve paid for a visiting coach to run ball skills workshops which the children really enjoyed. We also paid for a skipping workshop, which was received with great enthusiasm by the children and the children’s skipping skills were on display at that year’s Beer Festival.
  • We also pay for the older children to each have a piece of fruit or vegetable at break time; the government currently funds this for the younger children and we wanted all the children to have this opportunity.
  • We have funded lots of resources for the foundation stage (the youngest children in the school), including dressing up clothes, a farmhouse, computer software and lots of smaller puzzles and games, and these were on display at the recent school open evening.
